Carolyn Tran is a Senior Lecturer with the Australian Institute of Higher Education. She is also an Adjunct Lecturer with the University of New England Business School. She was formerly Senior Research Officer at NSW Public Policy Institute, The University of Sydney; Postgraduate Program Manager in Business and  Director of Scholarship of Learning and Teaching at International College of Management, Sydney; and a consultant of the World Bank.

Carolyn has written extensively on higher-education and public sectors, including local government. Recent publications have included research papers in Studies in Higher Education, Journal of Further and Higher Education, Applied Economics, International Journal of Educational Development, Asia Pacific Journal of Education, Public Administration, Australian Journal of Public Administration, Public Administration Quarterly.
